annual event showcasing foods from many excellent cooks
in the County. The Striped Bass Festival is a week long
extravaganza in Manning, with beauty pageants, fishing
tournaments, and sporting events, culminating in a day-long
party with parades, rides, food and crafts. The County's
Relay For Life is another major event that draws support
from the entire community. The Jr. Chamber of Commerce
sponsors the annual Oyster Roast that draws oyster fans
from far and wide. Clarendon County has many civic and
community organizations including: Chamber Of Commerce,
Rotary, Civitans, Pilot Club, Womans Club, American
Legion, Knights Of Columbus, Free Masons, Lions Club,
Historic Societies and many others. Churches, area
organizations and civic groups have fund raising events,
golf tournaments, fishing tournaments and festivals filled

Manning and the nearby towns of Turbeville and
Summerton hold annual Christmas events, most in
cooperation with the area’s many garden clubs. So whether
you want to work with an organization or just enjoy their
events, there is always something fun and worthwhile to do
